The “Together We Can” project, implemented by the Human Rights Foundation with the support of the IFA Zivik Programme and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, has completed a series of gender mainstreaming and inclusive recovery trainings in various regions of Ukraine. These trainings became an important step towards creating equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender, age, or social status.
Sumy Region
On June 5, the training in Sumy was conducted by Marina Osukhina. Participants worked on understanding societal barriers and the importance of barrier-free communication. They also developed practical tools to improve accessibility and equal opportunities for various groups of the population. ![]()
Cherkasy Region
On May 29, the training in Cherkasy was conducted by Olena Astapova-Viazmina. During the event, participants learned about the principles of gender mainstreaming and inclusive recovery and how to apply them in communities. One of the key topics was discussing the role of gender sensitivity in the recovery process after crises. ![]()
Chernihiv Region
On May 12, the training in Chernihiv was conducted by Marina Zakharina and Alina Kovtun. Participants learned the basics of gender equality and gender mainstreaming, discussing barriers and resources for youth initiatives. They also worked on developing inclusive initiatives that address the needs of different youth groups. ![]()
Zaporizhzhia Region
On May 15, the training in Zaporizhzhia was conducted by Olena Poda. Participants worked on gender stereotypes, discrimination, and developing skills in inclusive planning. The key part of the training was focused on developing gender-sensitive initiatives for recovery and creating a barrier-free environment. ![]()
Chernivtsi Region
On June 5, the training in Ust-Putilivska community was conducted by Olha Sapa. During the event, participants worked on gender stereotypes, conducted accessibility audits, and developed equal access cards for inclusive recovery. An important part of the training was group work to develop ideas on how to improve the community by considering the needs of all its residents. ![]()
Kirovograd Region
On June 18, the training in Kropyvnytskyi was conducted by Oksana Tkachenko. Participants worked on the concept of gender mainstreaming, inclusivity, and barrier-free accessibility, exploring social roles, equality principles, and inclusivity strategies. They also discussed approaches to creating inclusive spaces and worked on practical exercises related to public communication and civic campaigns. ![]()
These trainings became an important step towards creating equal opportunities for all and integrating a gender approach into recovery processes. The “Together We Can” project contributes to strengthening community cohesion, ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all citizens, regardless of their individual characteristics.
